| The Primary art program is literature based and incorporates history and language arts. It focuses on developing skills such as self confidence and art appreciation. Students will be taught the concepts of line, value, shape, texture, symmetry, pattern, dominance, color, proportion, overlap, representation, movement, repetition, and rhythm. The students will learn these topics by experimenting with different tools utilizing several techniques in various mediums. Monet, Hopper, Matisse, Picasso, Michelangelo, Dali, DaVinci, Goldsworthy, and Degas will all be studied as they correlate with specific techniques and topics. |

| Elementary |
| The Elementary art program is interdisciplinary, and will include extensive art history. Students will learn the concepts taught to primary students in addition to those of composition, space, symbolism, vanishing point, horizon, diversity, value, collage, dream style imagery, textile design, anatomy, and sculpture. To illustrate these concepts, students will study architecture, graphic design, DaVinci, Impressionism, Maori and Polynesian art, African cultures, and Michael Jagamara Nelson. |

| Upper
Elementary/Middle School |
| The Upper Elementary and Middle School art program is interdisciplinary, and will include extensive art history. It includes a concentration on movement, line, symbolism, vanishing point, texture, composition, product development, advertising, symmetry, architecture, graphic design, illustration, and collaboration. The artists’ Dubuffett, Wright, Gehry, Wisniewski, Olere, Wyeth, and Lawrence will be studied as well as the Surrealist and Pop art movements. |
