Upper Elementary Staff

Maija Alanen-

Maija has been with Foothills Montessori for over 10 years and is one of the founding teachers.  Maija has a BA in elementary education and is a Montessori certified teacher.  She has over 20 years teaching experience.

Danna Karlavage-

This is Danna's 3rd year at Foothills Montessori School.  She has a BA in psychology and a MA in elementary education.  She has worked directly with the famed educator Lucy McCormick Calkins, the founder of the Writers' Workshop and Literature Circle movement.  She brings with her 8 years of teaching experience in both general education classrooms and Asperger Syndrome classrooms.

Jennifer Harrington-

Jennifer has several degrees including a BA in psychology with a minor in Spanish studies and a MA in education with an emphasis on instructional technology.  Jennifer is Montessori certified in Early Education, Elementary I, and Elementary II. 

Ann Fellows-

Ann has taught at independent schools in Ohio, Florida and Las Vegas.  She has over 30 years experience in education and holds a BA in elementary education and graduate studies in curriculum.  Ann is Montessori certified.

Amy Nhaisi-

Amy has been an integral part of our FMS family for many years as parent, volunteer and PTO board member.  Amy holds a BA and is Montessori certified.
