Middle School
Our middle school program prepares children for the most challenging secondary curriculums available and offer many extra-curricular opportunities, while still offering a safe and empowering environment. All of our programs (primary thru middle) are based on the same essential principles, which are adapted to each age group in ways that are developmentally appropriate. Each principle is followed by a description of how it relates to the middle school level.

Solid Approach - A balanced course of study which includes textbooks, lecture, in-depth research, hands-on learning and valuable life skills providing an emphasis on learning that encourages the ability to think and to express oneself.
Respect - A safe and empowering environment which positively maximizes this time of personal change and growth.
Individualized Attention - A personal approach in a small and supportive environment, where students know they are respected and valued as individuals, where they can express themselves and take chances, and where their learning can be tailored to their academic level.
Extensive Curriculum - Extensive, integrated curriculum in Science, History, Geography and Social Studies which makes long lasting connections, promotes higher level thinking and encourages student understanding.
Multi-Age Grouping - Encourages cooperation over competition and allows children to advance to higher levels without the hindrance of relating grade level to academics.

Challenging - An intellectually challenging and stimulating program for even the most able student.
Life Skills - The development of organizational skills, personal responsibility, and good work habits.
Service - An emphasis on service projects and making positive contributions to others.
Outdoor Classrooms - Gardens extend the science curriculum.
Field Trips - Field trips and guest speakers corresponding to the extensive curriculum.
Mastery Learning - Required mastery of all subject matter is supported through peer and teacher study sessions to ensure success.
Technology - Extensive use of computers and technology throughout all areas of curriculum.

Personal Growth - Multiple opportunities for leadership, teamwork, and to make positive contributions through a wide range of available extra-curricular activities.
Preparation - An emphasis on preparing students to excel and to be ready for the most challenging secondary curriculums available.
